I used Lightworks http://www.lwks.com/index.php?option...emid=206&tab=0 To make my POS video for the competition earlier in the year. The free version goes up to 720P: http://www.lwks.com/index.php?option...102&Itemid=213 .

I have used Lightworks. It has some really nice features, but I also experience a lot of issues with it either crashing or sync issues when importing videos.
Windows Movie Maker is free. While it does not have a whole lot of features, does provide enough for a solid entry to this competition.
Sadly the things I have in my mind that I want to do extend a bit above WMM's capabilities. Really hoping I can get lightworks to function as it can do exactly what I'm wanting from a features perspective
