Default Spawn Camping, long so bare with me.(Rubble put your clothes back on dammit)

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to one and all,

As most of you know, we DO have a Code of Conduct in AOD. A Code of Conduct that ALL members should preferrably adhere to. I TRY to adhere to them as best I can, sometimes I fail and I WILL admit that. The one in particular point in our Code of Conduct I try to adhere to and am referencing is point #10. Win and lose games honorably, show sportsmanship. When it comes to Spawn camping, no one likes it nor enjoys it. As soon as you come into game, there is sometimes someone there hitting you before you know and/or realize what is happening. The urban dictionary defines Spawn Camping as such. "In gaming, when one camps (or remains in one position with the intent to obtain multiple kills) the spawn point (or location where players re-enter the game), often considered poor sportsmanship because players are often unable to respond in time to fight back, or are caught off guard.
Now, there is no General RULE per se about Spawn Camping in AOD. HOWEVER, with that being said, I believe it falls under the Category of "Good Sportsmanship". I DO NOT spawn camp, I DON'T like it when someone does it to us, nor when someone on my team or this clan does it. There is no joy in it. There is, I believe a very fuzzy Gray Area when it comes to distance on Spawn Camping. Sitting directly ON the spawn point and waiting for them to come in and shooting them as they do is DEFINETLY spawn camping. But just where does that "Gray Area" end so to speak. I just don't seem to understand the use of such a thing. Why not make the game and battles more fun for, not only ourselves but the other side, by ALLOWING them to actually make it into the game and getting their senses. As everyone knows, it takes approximately 2-3 seconds to figure out just WHERE you are and WHAT direction your facing once you spawn in. I bring this issue up only because I have seen SOME people in the clan do it and they shall remain nameless. It's not right. It's NOT sportsman like.
IF the other side or other people NOT in the clan want to spawn camp, then so be it. WE are better than that. I would LOVE to see people in this game, once they see AOD in a battle, go "Oh look. It's AOD. We're safe in the spawn they won't shoot us. They play with HONOR."
So...can someone tell me just WHERE that Gray line is when it comes to Spawn Camping. Thank and have a good day.
    Firehose.

actually there IS a rule w/in AOD,unspoken as it is,that says AOD does not, period, spawn camp. No discussions nor reasons for it. If I See someone doing it from AOD,I call em on it and get em back in the correct area. I have been called on it when not realizing wth I am "Usually in a Air Domination Match'. It is the realm of no-skill/no honor players and shows a complete lack of sportsmanship and game play. Repeated violators from AOD can expect floggings *quit getting excited CAASH* as well as a stern warning/talking to,and perhaps being forced to listen to Nimvlar perform the entire Carpenters Greatest Hits album,on a pan-pipe...

I have a question about specific situations. When your team rolls theirs and you're fighting on the point near their spawn. Is it wrong to continue the fight? For example B on Eastern Europe where the point is really close to the spawn. Is it wrong to attack enemies trying to recover the point, even though it's a very small distance from the spawn to the point?
Also, what about flanking? If on the same map you go way out into the fields people don't see you. Is it poor sportsmanship to pick them off as they drive into the city?
What happens when your team rolls the other and are just surrounding the spawn waiting for the timer to count down? Is AOD supposed to sit back and do nothing?

I'm not defending spawn camping, but I think the way spawn points in this game work (being too close to points) works against the principle of allowing an enemy a fair chance.

    SF,good question!

Each circumstance requires different play styles. In this case,no it is not.On Eastern Europe,or a few others,You push them back to the ground forces, which they spawn over top of directly, and are VERY close to the airfields on Domination. Thats different. Bomber Spawn Point camping on a regular sized map, etc? No bueno Senor.

Use your best judgement on this point. Your moral compass will not fail you!

Do unto others as you would have them do unto yourself. That's all!
If you're pushed and the only one up, embrace the spawn overrun. If you're pushing the last enemies down, I say finish the game!

Above all else, be respectful and don't be anti-competitive (ie exploiting the spawn system to earn a quick and merciless victory. No-fun, no-fair, rude [imo])

I studied ethics, so ask the Canadian if you don't know what being an a-hole is haha
