Other day my in-law ran a Nortons scan on my sons PC and clicked Restart when done.....and in morning it never started up, as in nothing, no fans, HD, monitor pushing power button does nothing. There is a Green Light lit up on his Power Box under plug, so I'm guessing its OK. Things I have done (I know a lil bout PC repair): Unhooked/removed & reinsert everything-connectors, memory, Graphics Card, HDD. Removed HDD and connected to my PC to run scans, check updates and error fixing (found very few errors). Connect his HDD directly to my PC and the drive ran fine everything started up as did before shutdown. Reconnected HDD to his tower and still nothing starts up. Thought maybe his Power Switch maybe was gone but "hot wiring" it (touching one switch wire to other to simulate a button push) but still nothing.
So anyone have a clue? Is the green light on the Power Box misleading me? Could his memory be fried? Needs ta fix it asap cause we are down to ONE PC between 4 people and its cutting into my War Thunder time lol. Last step I was gonna try was reset the CMOS but his MB has like weird CMOS positions where my old PC just had move from 2/3 to 1/2 than back again. Thanks for yinzs time those that read this.
