    Default CPU Cooler Upgrade

Currently I am running a very nice air cooler on my CPU, but I'd like to get it on water and I have found two coolers that I can't decide between.

    #2: http://www.arctic.ac/us_en/liquid-freezer-240.html

Thoughts, comments, suggestions and or advice? I'm willing to spend 150$ USD but i'd rather not spend any more than that.

Personally Id go corsair purley because I know so many people who own them and they are amazing. Dont know much about the other one but to be honest you probably cant go wrong either way.

I use Arctic fans with a controller on my case.
    I love them.

My main water cooling for my i7 is a Neptune 240m.

If I could go back, I'd look at Arctic.

But the Neptune makes such stupidly low temps I can't honestly foresee getting any lower. Without.... you know..... Nitrogen/Dry Ice/etc.
    Lol.

That's under load with Just Cause 3 running on max. After hours of play. Lol.

You sure? Utilisation at the bottom seems awfully low.

Just a FYI, if you get one of the high end air coolers, Silver Arrow or D15 for example. You can get within 1c-2c of the AIO water coolers.

At the moment I am running a Noctua NH-U12S. Assuming I want to seriously OC my CPU (4790k) I assume water cooling would be better for temps and noise control.

Yes and no... IT all depends on the fans. You need to look up reviews of the fans. The AIO coolers tend to require high air pressure fans, the cheapest way to increase the pressure is to spin the fan faster. You also don't get the most out of an AIO unless you have quality fans on both sides of the radiator. How serious is serious?

    Looking at this: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/06...on_cpu/?page=2

They managed 4.8GHz on air with a average cooler with acceptable temps.

    Also: http://www.overclock.net/t/1581101/r...liquid-coolers

I may seem like I'm pushing air, but I want to make make an informed choice rather than assumptions.
