Nice OC you got there! Nothin notable here...Still have my i5-3570K. I've had on water for the past few years, but sitting at 4.2, 1.275 vcore. Been up to 4.4 a few times at around 1.3 vcore but it made me nervous. I've also had my loop configured backwards for the majority of my time using liquid cooling, so once I motivate myself to position the radiator AFTER the cpu block I may get daring and go over 1.3 volts and shoot for a stable 4.8
Prime95 sends it up to 85 after an hour. I know it's an unrealistic scenario to run (their algorithm). Gaming load is around 70C.
I plan on getting an i7-6700k actually! Can't wait!
I have the opportunity to get everything so I most likely will be upgrading it all! I want an i7 since I've been doing video editing lately for my YouTube Channel as well. Thought it would be a nice upgrade for everything overall. My local store has it in stock and price is not too bad at all too. Though I will also be getting a faster and bigger SSD and GPU along with everything else ;)
I've had very good luck with Intel or Samsung SSDs. Other brands not so much.
Have you decided on a new GPU yet? I got a 970 a while ago and have been fully satisfied with the performance so far.
Also, look into buying high quality fans for your case. I never really did this until my most recent build and the difference is amazing. I went with cougar fans, high airflow low noise and they are fantastic.
On the OC subject, I managed to get into windows at 5049 MHz yesterday, but then it immediately BSOD on me. I may fiddle with it a bit more to see if I can manage a screenshot of that speed before it crashes.
I run my i5-6600k at 4.1Ghz, stock is 3.5Ghz. My CM212 cooler keeps it at a nice and steady 45c under load.
Floppy, what cooler/heat dissipation you using?
Running an H100 with 4 cougar fans in push/pull for the CPU, they're tied to CPU temp so they throttle up/down. Running a bunch of cougar fans throughout the case. I also have one really high flow fan (like 200 CFM) on a fan controller that I only turn on when I'm doing benchmarking stuff where it'd be at 100%; its in the upper left of this pic. WAYYYYYYY too loud to run normally though, it sits at like 10% so its quiet.
Nice OC, I think I got a bad chip for my i5-3570k lol. I can go a bit higher than I have, but found a 4.00 OC works the best. My temps are pretty good though!
Doing a new build soon and hopefully I'll get a good chip!
