    Protip Any tips?

So I kind of want hero and bounty hunter training. Anyone have any suggestions for how to become a better sniper?

If you play on a relatively high sensitivity, i'd suggest slowly lowering it but thats just me. I use to play on at least 12-14 sensitivity, and now i play on 2 and my aim has improved a lot more recently. Also, if you want to go to purgatory sometime and just snipe or practice, i'm free whenever Ice :D

Anything to get me better. I'm free mostly and going to purgatory will be fine :)

mouse sensitivity is key, if you have to high it will be too much to slowly move where as too low wont keep up with person
also, predicting paths. For example, if jedi's back to you and moving left, you need to move the sniper further past so when it shoots it runs directly into them
at least this is my take on it

I do make signatures as practice material at this time, leave me a PM.

    heros: roller skates aka dash.

bounty hunters: a good replacement ruptor scope.

Also what Kayla said, you'd want to lower your sensitivity a touch if it's really high. I usually play at 3.0 sensitivity

The new default ruptor scope is actually good but sensitivity is key and while lower sens definitely helps aim you have to find one you are comfortable with i could never get used to those that are lower than 4 and i really feel most comfortable where mine is at 6.8

There is also cl_mouseaccel which works slightly differently than sens. Sens controls overall speed and your screen motion only depends on how far you move the mouse. cl_mouseaccel on the other hand moves your screen based on how quickly you move the mouse, rather than total distance the mouse travels. So if you want to whip around, you can flick the mouse and it will move farther than without mouse accel but if you move at a constant speed it's like not having the mouseacel on at all. Hard to describe, but it's basically a displacement vs acceleration setting. The default value is zero (I like a 0.2-0.3 value personally) and I use a sens of 7.

But I'm not very solid sniper, so maybe don't listen to me.

people mentioning their ingame sens doesn't tell you anything about how fast their mouse moves without also knowing windows sens and mouse dpi

put windows sens at 6/11 which makes it 1:1 mouse movement with no interpretation and then mess with dpi and ingame sens

the rule of thumb is generally lower sens (within reason of course, if you have to swipe your hand across your entire table to move half an inch thats too low) is better because micro-movement of crosshair is significantly easier to do with a lower sens as well as having the ability to flick accurately

obviously there are exceptions but in every shooter that i have ever played i play with low sens. Play around with your in game sens/dpi until you can comfortably track a head-sized target at various distances. That's when you know you've found the right sens

people really undervalue how important your settings are in games, finding the right settings where you feel like you can improve the most and grinding it out will make you way better

This is very important. Find out what dpi you use and then go from there. Everyone should use 6/11 windows sens

Slayer and I use the same in game mouse speed.

    I play at 3 sens @ 800 dpi.
    Slayer, 1.5 sens @ 1600 dpi.

These 2 numbers are the same when translated to in game mouse movement.

    3 x 800 = 2400 effective sensitivity
    1.5 x 1600 =2400 effective sensitivity

    or 6.8 inches (17.3cm) for a 360 degree turn.

http://www.notalent.org/sensitivity/sensitivity.htm here is a tool that might help you find out what sensitivity you play at. tip leave Windows Multiplier at 1 for 6/11.

I wouldn't suggest using mouse acceleration or cl_mouseaccel unless you want to spend a lot of time getting used to it, and by a lot of time I mean years. I used to use mouse accel, was great, stopped using it for moba/rts, now I cant go back, it would be to hard to relearn.

On the note of a replacement ruptor scope, I just learned that the mb2 dev's hard locked scopes so you can't change them anymore. New scope isn't bad though, so I guess I got that going for me.
