Posting Images on Forums

Should we use an image hosting site whenever we want to share images on the forums? While I was browsing the forums I found CupoHemlock saying:

'Please make sure you use Imgur or similar image hosting service. Don't want to bring the wrath of the Forum Admins down upon us.'

So, I was wondering if I should do the same, or if this should only be done if LOTS of pictures are to be posted.

basically,

you can only store a limited amount on the forums. you can't manage it and it only takes up space on the server, we generally highly recommend that you use a hosting site because it lets you stay in control of your content and also keeps the size of our forum down for poor archangel.
