Well, after reading this article, I don't understand Nvidia... HBM Generation 2 is so much faster than GDDR6... And, it's overall better. Combine the superior CUDA Cores that the 1180 will have, with the ultra fast HBM2 RAM of the Vega cards, Nvidia literally would crush AMD out of the market for GPU's.

Lets just hope by then we have both asics and dedicated mining cards from both camps because I'm pretty sick of the inflated prices or at least what they were a month or so back when I was looking to change to a 1080ti.

Yeah, I just upgraded my monitor to 4k, which means I needed at least a 1080ti, but the last batch from Nvidia sold out in about 3 minutes, so I had to eat it and get the titan xp....love the card so far, but hate paying that much of a premium for a few % higher power ;) At least I feel like it wasn't super horrible as all other 1080ti's are going for around 1k anyway, so....it is what it is

There are some rumors going around about a new GPU manufacturer from China, who will specialize in manufacturing a device for Crypto mining. Lets home they hit real hard the ballsack of NVIDIA and AMD and we see a price decrease on GPU's.

that is not a good thing. monopoly would be bad for nvidea. there are laws that would make them break up their company.
