Default Tips for finding out if my cpu is fried?

So lightning hit my house lastnight.. Heard a loud pop and pretty much anything plugged in and on wont work. Cable box, TV's, Computer, Modem, Router...
    So this is my question..
Is my whole cpu fucked?? Or did maybe just the power supply go out? The modem and router power came back on and my monitor still works.
Can i go to bestbuy and get a power supply and see if it works?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you check the breaker panel to see if any of the switches are tripped? Have you tried a different outlet?

Check the switch at the back to see if it's in the right position. If you have the manual for your PSU, check to see if there are any surge protection features built in and how you can reset your PSU in-case one is present.

Are there any LED's on your motherboard? Are they turning on when your power supply is turned on?

If everything is good and PSU is the only item not functioning, you may have blown it. Check if there's a burnt smell. Only way to test for sure would be to buy a PSU and quickly connect it to see if everything powers up. Only after that can you check if there's any damage to other components.

There are power supply testers available, and they cost less than a power supply would. Of course if you buy one and confirm your power supply is fried, then you have to buy a new supply anyway. But if your supply tests fine, you have more expensive parts to replace.

To test the power supply manually you can use a paper clip to jumper the green wire to a black ground wire at the ATX connector. It should spin up the fan enough for you to tell if it's powering up at least. I'd say if the fan doesn't even spin or you don't hear the hard drives spin up then the power supply is probably shot.
