    Default Lab Environment

    Greetings Everyone,

My university is using vSphere to do our lab work, we only have one set of VM's and I would like to redo exercises and not mess up my lab as it will continue to build upon previous labs. Does anyone know how I can copy these labs easily?

I downloaded the vSphere server, I was thinking of hosting it on my home PC and then getting everything setup the hard way if that is my only option. I don't have alot of permissions on the school's server, hope some of you can help.

Can you snapshot the VM? If you can, you can just reinstall from the snapshot as a sort of "backup".

Depends on the license you have for vcenter etc

Thanks Kestah, it looks like that button is grayed out on the menu. I am guessing I have very little permissions other then start stop suspend. When something goes crazy the professor can't even do anything they have to call a Graduate student intern upstairs.

That kinda sucks that you can't create your own lab environment.
Other than that vSphere should have clone option but assuming you have limited permissions then I guess you won't be able to clone it.

If you could send some screenshots of that setup, that would be great.

Yea, looks like I'll have to manually set it up and the script probably will have fun telling me things are wrong haha.
