AOD 1 Vs 1 Tournament! Come join us!

I was thinking that we could try organize a 1 vs 1 tournament between AOD members.




The rules will be the following:

1) Its going to be best of 3, so the first guy that wins 2 games will be the winner of the duel.
2) The duels are gonna be based on ARCADE game-mode
3) You HAVE TO OWN at least 3 of the 5 planes available for the tournament
4) The planes available are gonna be F4U-1a (US 2.7), Bf 109 F1 (Germany 3.0), Spitfire Mk. II b (British 3.7), La-5 (Soviet 3.3), A6M2 (Japanese 3.7)
5) The selection on the plane you are gonna fight with its gonna be based on a BANNING SYSTEM. Basically each player its gona ban 2 planes each and the last plane renaming , the one that was not banned its gonna be the plane you ll have to duel with.
6) The maps we are gonna use are the 1v1 DUEL mode maps available when creating a costume game (NOTE! every time someone wins the duel you have to restart the map so the next time you spawn with a plane its gonna be untouched, with same altitude and with the gun locked for 35 s).
7) The registrations of the tournament will be open till Thursday 23rd March!.

Depending on how many players are interested we ll decide if we ll go with a Knockout phase right from the bat or we ll start with a group stage.

I hope the tournament wont stretch out too long and last for around a month top.

Very important! If you decide to participate it also means you can commit and be available to show up for the games you ll have to play. Every player will have 3 days of time to play their next game. If you guys think its too much or too little time we can change that.

If this tournament goes well and people like it we can try and do an RB one next time, or maybe tanks.

Its a BEST OF 3 so whoever wins 2 of 3 matches in the duel gets 2 points. After you have done any game please post the results here on this forum thread so we can update the tables.
Each player has to play 1 duel ( best of 3) against every player in their group.
Try to play the matches as fast a possible please. It would be nice that we can finish the tournament group stage in 2 weeks. If you see one of the players in your group don't be shy and start a match.


I want to clarify the rules because I think not everyone got them correctly:

1) How the plane you will fight with will be picked: before creating the costume game you both have to decide which plane you will fight with. The plane will be the SAME plane for both and it will be chosen by the following method. Starting by one of you , you ll have to BAN a plane each turn for 2 turn each and the last plane remaining the one that none of you banned will be the one you ll fight with. For example player one bans the spit, player 2 bans the zero, player 1 bans the la 5, player 2 bans the corsair ... the only plane remaining is the bf109 which in this case will be the plane u will both have to use.

2) How to create a costume game: one of you will have to create a costume game in order to fight. You do that by clicking on the cascade bar below TO BATTLE in the in-game menu, then click on custom battles, then on the bottom right create session, then you scroll down until you see the duel maps , then select one that is made for the 1 v 1 duels ( Eastern Europe, Finland, Rice Terraces, Top of the world, Africa, Tunisia and Novorossiysk), after that the duel settings should pop up. Be sure you have Arcade battles selected, limited fuel and unlimited ammo, re-spawns disabled, time limit 15 min, NO bots and any country. Then you apply, invite the other player and start the duel. When someone wins the 1st duel you and cap the zone you go out of the match and do it again until one of the players wins 2 duels. There WILL BE A GUN LOCK for the first 35 s of the game, that is how the duels are suppose to work.
