Default Disable Touchpad When External Mouse is Plugged in?

So I have this issue on my laptop where I turn on the option to disable my touchpad when an external mouse device is plugged in but when I turn that on, it completely disabled my touchpad even when I unplug the external mouse. Does anyone know why or how I can fix this?

Depending on what brand of touchpad you have, like Synaptics, there's usually a separate control panel specifically for the touchpad. I'd check to see if that is where you have it disabled. But also, as said in previous post, uninstalling the driver in Device Manager will also refresh all software tied to it, also resetting whatever configuration you had it set to. Hope this helps!

bit late to this party but most laptops actually have a shortcut to disable touchpad. Function + a key that normally had a little touch pad icon.
