Default What's the best course of action here?

So, I've been mulling it over and unsure of the best course of action here....

I'm upgrading my SSD to a 500GB so I can use it for OS and 2/3 main games I play a lot. I've also been thinking about just wiping my HHD because it's almost full (2TB) and it's just full of absolute shit, games I never play and is in 0 kind of order.

I have a genuine Windows disc that I can use to reinstall OS on the new SSD but what's the best course of action here?

Wipe the HHD and old SSD, replace SSD and install new version of windows from scratch?

I've never completely reformatted a PC before so unsure really.

I've had people recommend to me to have the SSD installed and then migrate the OS over to it. That way you won't have to format it and you can just erase anything you don;t need off of your mechanical drive.

A fresh install is always recommended. Keeps junk information from building up.

If you're getting a new SSD, I highly highly recommend (if you have M.2 on you're mobo and the funds) getting an Intel 600P or Samsung 960 EVO. NVMe drives are significantly better than anything else you can get right now.

    Yeah fresh install every day.
What are you doing with your old SSD?
Is it still working OK? If so wipe it(once backed up if needed), update firmware on it if needed and use it as a secondary games drive?

Also recommend a NVMe drive if you can, much faster than SATA.
