    Geekout Google Chrome Extensions

    Hello All

I would like to share some of the "important" extensions that I feel like that u can't go without

Ecosia Omnibar Redirect (Legacy) different search engine that will plant a tree when you search the web with it bc the ads generate income for ecosia, and in turn ecosia uses the income to plant trees.
    https://info.ecosia.org/what

these next three will actively look for discount codes or will search for other sellers (on amazon) who are selling the same thing for less.
    Honey

Grammarly for Chrome - for people that can't spell for their life, lol.

Line Numbers for Google Docs - I'm using it for college
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...lik?authuser=1

OneTab - if u need to leave bc u forgot that u were going somewhere u can hit the one tab and it will condense all of the tabs ur looking at into the one tab extension to be looked at a later date

PDF Viewer? - I think I wasn't able to view PDF's before I used this extension lol.

My top pick is "Hide Most Visited Tabs Reloaded" so you can enjoy your sweet chrome new page theme without having to look at your history or Google search bar

Camelizer is well worth it - plugin works with Amazon, and when you click it on an Amazon page, it shows you the historical price. Great for when Amazon had 'deals' where they jack the price up a week before and then give you a discount...

Can’t link it because I’m on mobile, but the most important extension imo would be uBlock Origin. Seriously, a lot of ads these days have malware in them. 1 misclick and you could potentially be infected. They’re also annoying and waste my time.

You can disable it on Youtube/Twitch channels you support, or on any website you want to support towards their ad revenue.

Is uBlock significantly better than Adblock or Adblock Plus? I use the latter and my only real complaint is that it's easily detected by websites that choose to lock you down unless you unblock ads.

Adblock recently started selling ad companies a pass basically, so that’s why I️ stopped using ABP. Not going to deal with that.

I’m not sure what the detection rate of websites is with uBlock vs ABP, but tbh if a site doesn’t let me view its pages with my Adblock on, I’ll just go to a different site. There was an instance last year where Forbes was displaying a malicious ad, and it infected a lot of users when they visited the page/turned their adblocker off. They prompt to turn it off or they just don’t let you view it. So I️ just don’t read Forbes anymore. I’d rather get my information/entertainment from somewhere else than deal with it. Same goes for any other website.
