Black screens during GeForce update.

I was updating my Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 3GB and the screens (3 monitors) went black during install and stayed that way. Using DVI-D, HDMI and DP. I used DDU to uninstall drivers and tried to reinstall and same thing happened. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem. Thanks

I've got an old 660ti and mine goes black during the update but just for 2-3s...I don't think it's anything you should worry.

Screens going black for a few seconds while updating video drivers are nothing to worry about, it's completely normal and intentional. It used to be that after upgrading your video drivers you would have to reboot, and this is still the case with some drivers for other things, but nowadays Nvidia (and I think AMD) reinitialize the graphics card after new drivers are installed, causing the screens to go black.

If the monitors stay black, how did you manage to use DDU?

The problem is it stayed black. I'm sending the card back. Thankfully under warrenty

Were you able to fix it? I wouldn't send it back if this happened just once. It could very well just be a fluke. If it happens consistently though, I would be a bit suspicious.
