Yeah you’re scoring an F in bufferbloat. I have half your internet speed and score a D. This is most likely going to be a time consuming process for you to find out the cause. Network performance issues can have a ton of different causes.

would you say start with reseting config file and running the test again would be a good first step?

It’s good to get a baseline of what the router gets before changing things, so yes I’d recommend it. It can’t get worse than an F anyways haha.

Are you savvy with networking equipment, settings, etc?

semi lol, haven't done it professionally since 09 but have been in school. First thing i've done with the router in a long time [mentioned before reasons] was actually setting up a vlan and guest network on it haha. db's and all that fun I was trying to maximize strength of it to try and correct for the signal problems in the back.

There’s not much in the settings that will help with actual signal strength. You can play around with the wireless channels. Depending on what devices you have in your home or around you if you live in an apartment, it could help a bit. Interference would be the first thing I try to rule out when it comes to bad signal/disconnects.

Yeah you’d probably be better off buying an extender and calling it a day. Or you could move the router into the middle of the office to improve stability to the back.

Would it be worth it to finally get off of using the personal home stuff? To actually start getting access points and a router not a "router" which is a access point + router + switch? All crammed into a little box?

Just get the Powerline Adapter for Desktop. Best thing you can have if you don't want to run cables and is better than WiFi. But if you still need WiFi in certain areas of the house where signal is weak then get this: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wi-Fi...=wifi+repeater
It's a WiFi extender, easy to setup and is a great solution for strong WiFi signal throughout the whole house.

Or, you could get this Powerline Adapter that also has built in WiFi extender:
    https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-TL-WPA...e+adapter+wifi

Seems like something is seriously throttling your WiFi. What kind of setup are you running right now? What models/brands?

There are some new wireless routers out that are supposed to be amazing. I’ll try to get more info when I’m at home.

Picked up a new one (temporary fix) [Linksus AC1750], like i said that ASUS N16 with Tomatoe is from like 2012 so it was probably not enjoying itself. Already don't like it because its treating me like I need a step one step two again >.<.

This is what I got now from my desktop [in the front] I moved it out here and it had still been having issues with the old router.

I'd like to know what kind of network topology he has. Modem + Router or just Modem.

There’s a lot of fluctuation in your connection. Try testing the same device with a wired connection like 20 minutes apart from each other. Make sure no other devices are downloading.
