Question about running 2 graphics cards

Hi folks,
I have a 1070 and just got a 1080ti. I am going to swap out the 1070 for the 1080ti. However, would it be possible / useful / productive / worthwhile to run both graphics cards or should I sell the 1070?

1070 would bottleneck your 1080Ti
Some games perform worse in SLI. It's better to have a single card setup.

Sell 1070. You can use that money to upgrade other components. Hence, sell CPU, Mobo, RAM and buy i7 8700k + mobo + DDR4. Performance boost in gaming will be huge (~70%)

You could use the 1070 as a dedicated PhysX card until you can swap it. Some games you'll see a performance increase, some you won't. It wouldn't be worth the extra heat inside your case tbh.

Aplogies for the recommendation. Your reply does makes sense. I don't really mean to advertise it around publicly so to say. But ask your close friends within AOD first. I have offered up various parts to members. 2 of my monitors are from different members. We're all here to help each other out.

Kijiji worked well for me to sell parts and do an upgrade. What I would strongly suggest. Put the whole rig on sale (maybe take out SSD) on Kijiji for like $1400 and when lowballers come in sell it for $1200. With those $1200 you can do an insane upgrade on your rig.

LetGo (phone app) seems to be what everyone is using these days. The latest episode of Scrapyard Wars at LTT they were finding good deals on it. Better than craigslist for sure.

IMO Always run two of the exact same card.

Do not run Crossfire, or SLI unless your CPU supports the bandwidth example socket 1151 only supports 16X Pcie Lanes so putting two 1080ti's would be a waste of money I think many other CPU's also have similar issue.
