Default Connection Issues with Teamspeak at work

    Hi there,
I regularly connect to Teamspeak while at work using OpenVPN GUI. Generally as long as I log into OpenVPN every session and then connect to Teamspeak, my connection is fine for the day.

However in the last week or so, I follow this same process which has been working for more than a year but roughly every hour or so I am disconnected from Teamspeak and given an error that says "Trying to Connect to Server on XX" where XX is the IP of the server, along with the error "Failed to connect to Server"

If I disco reco to the VPN, Teamspeak is good again for about an hour.
Any idea what might be the cause?

    Thanks!

Did something change at work, new firewall or proxy?

Use the IP instead of the DNS name? Your VPN might have various different ips it uses as exit nodes and one of them might be bad. So when you reconnect you are going back to a different exit node/server.

Definately using the IP. Nothing that I know of changed at work but I do have a ticket in with IT so that may shed some light.

When you say OpenVPN, do you use VPN of your company internal network or you have your private OpenVPN client that you use?

    Hi Zed,
OpenVPN is a program my IT team installs on all machines to allow us to access certain external resources (ie games).

To close the loop here, the issue was with my company and has since been patched. Thanks for all of your help!

I know OpenVPN as I manage OpenVPN server myself. The reason why I asked was because you can have your own server or you can use paid services provided by 3rd party.

Got it. I think we manage it in house.

That would be logical if you have your own servers or use cloud services to host VMs.
