    He did more memory testing and replaced the two 16GB RAM sticks with two 4GB. Results were the same, only showing half in the Bios and in Windows. He has better stability on one stick of 16GB registering as 8GB than he does with two sticks of 16GB.
    Still having trouble going through post. Reboots 2 or 3 times before it gets to the windows login screen. Sometimes its a reboot or two from there, perhaps a complete shutdown, no reboot for a half hour and then total shutdown again.

    Is there a way to have software that will test components during startup and produce a log so he can determine which component is failing?

    I'm lending more and more towards the motherboard.
