Is the Last Jedi bad?

One thing could have saved the whole movie. I could have forgiven "The Last Jedi" in whole if they had done one simple thing:

If Rey had joined Kylo Ren after he killed the Supreme Leader. That would have made the whole thing worthwhile and would have both mirrored the Original trilogy's ark (in a sense), and cut a new path at the same time. It would have set up the entire third movie perfectly.

I.E. The last hope is now a leader of the evil faction. But are they evil? Is Kylo Ren a bad jedi? Who's going to save them, or at least try?

This remake the Last Jedi movement is cool, but I need to see a script before I decide it'd be worth it to pledge.

I was really hoping that she would become the villain and Kylo would see the error of his ways and turn back to the light. Would have been SO cool, but Disney Star Wars being what it currently is, they'll never do anything cool. Been hearing rumors that they're trying to get rid of Kathleen Kennedy, which if it's true then I'll be really happy. Hopefully see Star Wars try to return back to being good.

I was really hoping that she would become the villain and Kylo would see the error of his ways and turn back to the light. Finn's final dream as he is summarily executed by First Order command for insubordination. Then, as logic would have it, the First Order is crushed by a vastly superior New Republic and everyone lives happily ever after.

I hope they make it so that Luke returns from the neverworld of the force. His force ghost blocked a saber strike, and yoda's conjured lightning, so he could still be powerful.
Either that or Luke became one with the force and learned to teleport at the end, instead of dying. Just not time travel, but they NEED to bring Luke back.

I've given up on the "main" series so to speak. The new trilogy is garbage that Disney puts out to capitalize on merchandising. That being said, I enjoyed Rouge One, and really enjoyed Solo. Maybe the next trilogy will redeem itself, or even the last episode of this trilogy. But VII and VIII were garbage.
