Power supply decided to fireball Saturday night, will be a week or two before I can get another one on the way.

I know the feeling. I just finished my big upgrade then my computer kept randomly black screening. Only way to get it back on was to unplug from the power socket & plug back in. Immediately thought PSU, did some reading which also suggested it was the PSU. Upgraded from 600w to 1000w, no issues at all!

I was pretty sure my 12v rail was getting weak. Its atleast 6 years old and has ran pretty hard. Pc rebooted itself once before and I chalked it up to something else entirely. Long story short it shut itself off and wouldn't power back up. Ran all my connections and attempted it again, 3 inch fireball shot out the side of my 24pin cable. Dead power supply confirmed haha.

My ol Thermaltake Toughpower 600w lasted 11 years for me. I'm happy with that though. Still works, just not enough for nextgen shit.

Heads up, I'm still down. Working to get a power supply ordered asap but with the wife being on maternity leave things are right.

doen't need to be, mine is 7 years old and still running without problems
