Default Thinking of upgrading my monitor/video card

I'm thinking of upgrading my monitor and video card. I have limited funds, so I can only do one at a time. I want to get a Gsync/Freesync monitor, and am aiming for 1080p 144hz. I was wondering what I should upgrade first, monitor or video card.
Right now I'm using a 47" Samsung television as a monitor, which is capped out at 60hz.
    Here are my specs:
    CPU: Intel - Core i7-4790K 4GHz Quad-Core Processor Overclocked to 4.8Ghz
CPU Cooler: Corsair - H105 73.0 CFM Liquid Cooler
    Motherboard: Asus - Z97-A ATX LGA1150
    Memory: Corsair - Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400
Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 770 2GB WINDFORCE
Case: Cooler Master - HAF 932 Advanced ATX Full Tower
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Since you are aiming for a 1080p monitor then I'd say go for the monitor first.

I would go video card. 770 can't play many newer games at decent settings or framerate.

    NZXT Kraken X63 // 32gb HyperX 6000c40 @ 6600c34

You need to decide on a gpu before the monitor if you want freesync or gsync.

    Freesync is for AMD.
    Gsync is for Nvidia.

With that said, people tend to upgrade their monitors less frequently than GPU’s, so I’d honestly look into future proofing as much as possible. 2k/144hz monitors are dropping in price. You’d have to lower the resolution a bit if you stick with your 770 but once you upgrade that it’ll be awesome. I play on a 2k/165hz monitor with a 1070 and can hold 144 in most games I play without touching the settings.

Or if you’re looking for a more immersive experience, maybe an ultrawide?

There are a lot of options these days. I recommend educating yourself a bit on some things and asking yourself what you ultimately want.

Well considering your limited budget, Freesync monitor with an AMD card would be your best choice I'd recommend an RX 580 if you're looking for 144hz on games like Overwatch, CSGO, etc. If you're looking for 1080p 144hz on AAA games, get an RX VEGA. Paired with any freesync monitor. I'd get a GPU first myself unless that TV is far too big for the setup.

Grab a 1060, they go for 150 on ebay. And maybe sell the 770, at least $80 from that
