    Honestly, I prefer flat screens.

It’s personal preference but you will probably pay more for a curved monitor.

Curved is alright. I'll have to check back on something but curved monitors are alright.

    +1

I bought a 2716DG back when they first came out, it's an amazing screen. It was around $600, last spring they went on sale for $379.00 so I grabbed a second one. The 1440p and 144Hz refresh rate make this an excellent choice for the games I play.

If you opt for a 8700K you can get a Z370 motherboard many of which will take the 9th gen i7s for future upgrades the Z 370s can be had at a decent price due to the Z390s just being launched. You can save a little by going with a 7700K and Z270 MB but will be stuck with that. I still can't figure out what GPU to buy lol, I would think a 1080Ti vs a 2080, they are close in price but I haven't had a chance to see what the best deal is.

Will you also need all the peripherals?

Unless you buy that awful Asus VG248 for $190. No offense to anyone that may own one... lol.

I bought my Acer for $550 on sale (down from $799ish). It’s gorgeous.

The Asus 248’s I’ve seen in the wild weren’t as smooth as my 2411z. Plus, the 248 is outdated now but some people still buy them for some reason.

This would be a better option for the same price range. It has more functionality and freesync for $190.

They aren’t awful by any means but with the new technology that’s out i can’t really recommend one unless it’s like $140.

All depends. If going ultrawide curved is almost a necessity but for a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor I wouldn't go curved. Grey's and black are usually quite uneven (kind of splotchy) across the monitor. It's only noticeable on a completely black or grey screen. Backlight bleed is a lot more likely as well but that's hit or miss with pretty much any monitor.

    AMD - Freesync
    NVIDIA - Gsync

    They are proprietary.

Freesync isn't proprietary but nvidia won't support it due to gsync and there's nobody else to use it lol.

    Basically the same thing dude.

They will never mix and that makes it proprietary to their technologies.

Not really. AMD allows anyone to use it. Intel is coming out with graphics cards in 2019 by the sounds of it. They may use it.

This thread goes into some depth of what Freesync is.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comment...n_of_freesync/

    And:
    https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...isconceptions/

    Takeaways:
    1. Freesync is an AMD exclusive technology.
    2. Intel will not be adapting Freesync.
    3. Just because it’s open source doesn’t mean it’s not proprietary.
    4. As of right now, the only GPU’s that support AMD’s proprietary Freesync technology...are AMD GPU’s and APU’s (Xbox).

Ok it doesn't matter lol. N it's very likely Intel will adopt freesync if they want to compete. It would be completely moronic for them to make their own adaptive sync tech at this point and cause them to sell a VERY small % of the cards they'd be able to sell if they did adapt the technology.

The thing is though, if they come out with their own technology to support adaptive sync, there are millions if not billions of Intel processors out that could possibly adapt that technology. It would be a major PR stunt for Intel and give them a kick start into this page of their book. More people would be tempted to buy Intel processors because as far as I know, Freesync isn't supported by integrated AMD chipsets. Plus, it wouldn't make any sense for them to pay their biggest (only?) competitor for Freesync support on their hardware.

Just think of what that would do to the entry level gamers that can't afford an all out gaming PC.... could you imagine having that technology built in when you were at that stage? It would be amazing.

Who knows. We'll have to see.

i've found some parts i like and made a list
    https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qQQCq4
this build is pretty expensive where i live and i dont really have an idea of how good each component are, so you are welcome to come with suggestions to where i can inprove the build or places i can save a little money.

the price on pcpartpicker is around $2k but since everything is more expensive in Denmark ill end up paying around $3k

K series CPU gives better resale value if u want to upgrade to something else or just pop an 9900k in or something down the road. 2070 instead of 1080 as it's on par in dx11 titles but smokes it in dx12 and vulkan. Also 2070 gets much better performance then 1080 in bf1. Wouldn't be far fetched to assume that will happen in bf5 as well. Also it's $50 cheaper.

As for a windows key there's cheap places to get them. It's been covered by bitwit and Paul's hardware on YouTube before.
