WHAT THE H*CK is there to do in Michigan?

I got a new job offer in Michigan, so I'll be relocating from the East Coast. Still working out all the details but once I'm there I'll be mostly alone. My buddy out there will be my coworker but I have to leave everyone else behind here on the East Coast! Lemme know what there is to do and look out for!!!

"Michigan" is a very diverse and large state. Give me some idea of which region, and i can tell you some fun things.. also what kind of things do you like?

We have professional hockey/football/baseball teams in Detroit. Fairly robust AAA baseball around a few cities. "Northern Michigan" is huge in tourists (Traverse City and Petoskey) and wineries. West Michigan (Westside Bestside) has all kinds of stuff to do!!

There are a couple of large B1G schools, so lots of tailgating and college area stuff, theatre, museum, etc etc..

Upper Peninsula is amazing if you like the out doors, and Marquette is pretty fun city also in a lot of ways..

I know it seems crazy to suddenly relocate, but if you keep a positive attitude, if you stay happy about your life moving forward, all those things like friends, and S.O.'s will come naturally.

I'll be in the Auburn Hills area. I'ma car guy but like a little of everything - sports, nature, craft beer and stuff.

Misery! Welcome to the best state in the Union. Auburn Hills is an excellent area of Detroit, and Downtown Detroit is experiencing a bit of a comeback nowadays. Since you like craft beer you need to get over to Grand Rapids sometime in the Summer. They've got a lot of craft breweries around there. Make sure to hit up Lake Michigan in the Summer as well (July or August). I spend my summers around the Pentwater, MI area, and love it. Ludington is another popular spot.

If you like to ski or do other winter sports, or want to try em out, Mount Brighton is around your area and an excellent spot to have some winter fun. I usually make it up further north around February to snow mobile at some family's places.
