Does it happen randomly or when you open a program?

The solution to this is to do a install (repair) of windows either using a CD or USB.

Doing routine cleans and scans can help, along with keeping your hardware safe from damage. Probably ensuring that critical software is up to date and compatible. Other than that from what I understand, there isn't anything significant that can be done. Just do frequent backups. If you already got it then it's time to do your backups now and get a diagnostic to determine the source (assuming damaged hardware-related). For me all of my sources (only have had two blue screens total) have been faulty HDDs but I know some people have had malfunctions with their motherboards.

My advice is probably lame but I'd check to see if it's still under warranty or see what the fee for repair from the manufacturer would be if you really didn't feel like having a struggle just to use it.

Yeah ive noticed that when your not consistent with cleanings the pc tends to get extremely slow and clunky, thanks for the advice.

Week old necro but... Whenever you see a BSOD, google the error code that comes with it. It'll give you a good idea of what wrong or at least point you to where the problem occurred. Update the driver of whatever went wrong if it has one (GPU, audio device, wifi, etc). If it's a memory error, do some RAM testing and see if one of your RAM is bad. If it's a file system error, it could be Windows or it could be the HDD (if you have an SSD, that's probably not the culprit). Try doing a soft reinstall of windows (there's some way you can do it without reformatting to keep your data). Or if you want, reformat and start from scratch.

If you have a laptop with an HDD that you move around a lot, it's probably the HDD (especially if it's a 1+ year old Dell).

If it only happens while gaming, it's probably GPU related.

If it happens sporadically all the time, then it's a toss up.

    edit:

Having read your description... It sounds more like a GPU problem. Do you see any graphic anomalies before/at the BSOD? You may have to think about a new GPU. At the very least try updating/downgrading the drivers.
