    Nice rack ;)

I have more server equipment than I'd like to admit and will be doing something extremely similar. I don't have room for it to be setup anywhere until I move, which should be soon.
2x Dell poweredges (i think they're only a couple gens old)
1-2x HP servers, not sure of model.
    2x 48 port switches - Netgear.
1x patch panel 16 port or 24 port patch panel.
More that I can't think of right now. It's all been in storage for a few months.

I'll have to go to the garage and see what the models are. But they're in very good condition and are relatively new. I think I priced everything out to be around $7k-10k used.

Thinking about this network rack because of a setup using it I saw on reddit. If I find the picture, I'll post the setup:

    https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1500_.jpg

My plan is to network connect all of my TV's, run plex and onsite storage (I have roughly 10TB of storage) for backups and home media, and eventually have emulators setup to where you can basically play whatever old console games you want from anywhere in the house. As well as backups for my computers, adblock filter for the entire network, etc. It'll be a long WIP, but worth it.

Absolutely. I entertained the idea of running a bunch of raspberry pi's and having them all connect back to one or my servers for the ROM storage. As cheap as the pi's are these days I still may do that.

I check my local craiglist from time to time to see anything cool to test Server 2016 (to work on getting the MCSA 740,741 and 742) but its either nothing great or overpriced

Ebay racks/setups specifically for the CCNA and MCSA certs are decent as well if you know what you're doing and what hardware you need.

Have you installed Snort on PFsense yet? Also reddit.com/r/homelab is a good place to look for cheap gear.

I haven’t started it yet. I don’t need any equipment except the enclosure itself. I’m just picky and want an expensive one...

I listed some of the equipment I was able to obtain earlier in the thread.

Nice! I finally got around to ordering a small 15U rack for consolidating my lab down into the garage (inside a separate closet). Picked up two DL360p G8 pizza boxes this past week and have an older NetApp storage array to add into the mix as well. Have a 10Gb Nexus 5020 switch and an older Catalyst 3750 that will be part of it all as well. Will get pics of it when I get others of my current rig up :)

My lab is more for work / customer POC purposes (lots of VMs, etc...) vs. Plex. I'm running Plex on a Synology NAS. I have the massive Corsair 900D sitting in a box in the garage as well (an aborted build from 2 years ago but just couldn't let that case go). Think I'll slam a shitload of capacity into it and run FreeNAS

Nice man. I have a 380 Gen10 that fell in my lap and I’m trying to sell it. I’m having a really hard time. With what it’s stacked with it values at close to 5k. Any suggestions on a market where a consumer can sell something like this?

I keep getting tools that claim they’re “in the biz” offering 1k and telling me that’s all it’s worth. Getting frustrated.

    Depends on your location.

I’m in a city with 8 million people in an hour radius. Selling/flipping/finding good deals is easy on letgo, OfferUp, or craigslist.

Can also try eBay if you don’t mind shipping it.
