Not likely. If the name Star Wars was attached to it in any way, Disney would get a major hard on and shut it down. MB2 gets a pass because it existed before Disney bought the IP.

The developer said himself that they were going to build their own game on top of the port. They know they can’t keep anything Star Wars for it. It’d be a spiritual successor, which may be fun, but won’t be Star Wars.

A new, standalone, MBIII would be impossible anyways. As soon as Disney hears about it, they’d shut it down, free to play or not. Star Wars is unfortunately their IP.

Yeesh, that MBIII looks absolutely terrible. I just miss the days of Republic Commando Multiplayer. That scene is completely dead now and I just wanna play Commandos and Trandoshans again :(
