    Default Nvidia Ampere (30x0) announced today, I'm tempted!

    Anandtech has a good comparison chart of all 3 against a 2080 Ti for specs, now we just need some benchmarks!

    I have 9 months left on my store warranty for my 2080 Ti and, uh oh, it might just stop performing as it should come mid-September!

    RTX 3070 - $499 - TBA
    RTX 3080 - $699 - Sept 17
    RTX 3090 - $1,499 - Sept 24

    Anyone else feeling a need to upgrade?

    Wow! Just wow! These benchmarks are amazing! Comparing the 2080 and 3080, 60 to 90 percent increase in performance for $700?! Shame that nobody has any reason to buy my 2080Ti now.

    I'm tempted on the 3080 also but will be waiting on benchmarks from the community beforehand. I'm sure it's just me but it seems the push from nVidia is to get as many people as they can into the 3080 before the 3070 comes out. I'd be suspect/surprised if the tech jumped that much (80% increase on 3080) that and the 3070 somehow only increased by 25%.

    I have a 2080 Ti today, but my 4K monitor dream never came to fruition. Since I have some time on the store warranty, I was thinking of the 3080 for 1440p/144Hz gaming. I'm not giving up on my 4K monitor dreams.

    If I did go with the 3080, that would leave some store credit for an AMD rebuild. I have not touched AMD in my main rig since the Athlon days. Zen2 has nice prices, sure would be nice if Zen3 had a surprise performance/price ratio like the Nvidia 30 cards!
