Any Intel lovers out there getting excited about the upcoming Rocket Lake processor release?
I may be ready to re-build again this spring with Z590, i7-11700K, and a PCIe 4.0 nvme 980 pro.

Depends on pricing. I switched to ryzen after about 10 years of hating on AMD for their constant mediocrity. Now Intel is meh. Performance is still there but they can keep their double the power consumption per core for similar performance lol. They are way behind and zen 4 is rumored to have a 29% IPC improvement. Also 8 cores is good for gaming but that's all they can manage on 11th gen and then the sockets dead again. Weak.
Moores law is dead youtube has had pretty solid inside info and to sum it up best in a TL;DR Golden Cove is shaping up to be the next sandy bridge moment for intel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvKCQTWEep0
Yes
I was planning to since Ryzen CPUs are so impossible to find, but then I was hearing there's a bigger update coming in the last half of 2021 so I'll probably end up waiting now. I may just sit out this gen really. Really wanted/need to upgrade (current CPU is an OC'd 4770k) but it's been impossible to find hardware.
I'm looking at Rocket Lake, price will determine what the final build is. Although it seems like Intel is always summarized as "wait for <insert next gen name>".
I won't try AMD again, I know Ryzen is all the rage these days and incredibly tempting. I've always had weird problems with AMD. Memory errors (sticks tested fine), driver issues, system stability (iTunes crashed my last build every time it was launched) and the list goes on. I've given up on AMD.
My current build is an Intel i7 7820X and it has been pretty stable, except for my graphics card the last few months. Good thing I bought the store warranty on it, I'll return it soon for full retail price to fund my build.

I want to be excited to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading but my 8700k can still easily handle anything I throw at it so I don't really see the point.
Yeah I tried AMD for the first time on the PC I built for my woman and it has had some weird problems like you mentioned so I probably won't bother trying it again either.
