I need to buy a new gaming keyboard. What keyboard should I buy?
Do you have a certain switch type, price range, and / or layout that you prefer, Anvil?
Good question. Under $200 Canadian, full size keyboard. I don't know much about switch types. I want backlit keys. I basically play games, post here and write occasional emails.
Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum is a great gaming keyboard, been using it for years. Performs really well in all games, especially in fast paced shooters like COD and BF. It's also pretty good for typing as well. It's mechanical with Logitech's own version of switches instead of the usual Cherry.
HyperX Alloy FPS Pro (hard to find atm, and RGB is limited to red)
SteelSeries Apex 7
either with "red" (linear) smooth switches and not "blue," clicky switches (unless you like clicky ones)
Intel 13700K @ 5.4GHz; Zotac RTX 4080; 32GB RAM @ 4400MHz 20-28-28-48
1 TB 990 NVMe, 500 GB 980 NVMe, 500 GB 850 & 860 EVOs; EVGA 750W Gold PS
Dell S2721DGF @ 165Hz IPS (x2)
Pulsar X2V2 Mini on Artisan Zero FX Soft XL
Ducky One 3 SF 65% keyboard with pre-lubed Black switches
I'm a sucker so I'd get md770, maybe with hyperX pudding caps like this (but not blue switches!):

I've really enjoyed this ducky one 2 mini, but it's not a full size keyboard.
WASD Code V3... Sleek, simple, and durable. No cheesy "gamer" stuff.

I like the Brown switches since I tend to bottom out the keys when gaming.
I've had my Corsair K63 (wired) for well over a year with no complaints except my left ctrl key pops off every once in a while but I think thats on me. I got mine on sale for like $40 with shipping but their full sized version is going for under $100 (USD) straight from their website at the moment. Mechanical with Cherry Reds and some media controls.
I'd strongly suggest going 10 keyless if you don't care about numpad. Gives you a decent amount more mouse space. I went right down to 60% recently with the hk gaming gk61 with gateron optical brown switches and I'm loving it.
What mouse and other peripherals do you have?
I only ask because of software reasons. On my main PC I use all Logitech gear, g502 light speed, g915 wireless keyboard and what not. My wifes computer she perfers all Corsair gear. Its easier to match things due to the software that comes with it unless you do not mind having various programs you have to go through to customize stuffs.
But anyways my recommendations on keyboards that i have personally used is;
Logitech G915 (G815 for wired, which is exactly the same with usb passthrough :D)
Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum (Used the most up until G915)
Corsair Corsair K95 RGB Platinum (by far the best all around for like everything, seriously almost switched my whole setup due to this keyboard)
SteelSeries Apex Pro (I like the brand)
SteelSeries Apex 3 (First TKL for me)
Others (I used alot)
Now mind you these are all MY personal views on the keyboards, everyone is different.
When it comes to ten keyless I personally LOVE my numpad, i type numbers and even set macros to them all the time so It was a waste for me to get the TKL versions. Honestly if you need more desk space the TKL will shine, if not why short your self?
I am using the Razer Huntsman Elite..I love it because not only of the backlit keys..It has a nice volume control knob.. I have used a few Razer keyboards and have loved all of them.. I still have my Black Widow Tournament edition 2013 that may daughter uses right now.
Honestly the money you're willing to put into it get something good. I know people like their Razer and Corsair but tbh once you've used a quality keyboard they feel super janky and rattle like crazy. If you really want to stay with a name brand I'd probably go logitech g pro tkl. Logitech has there own switches which I've found to be a lot more stable and less noisy than pretty much anything you get from razer or corsair. That or go with WASD keyboards like drach mentioned. I'd also recommend brown switches as they have a bit of a tactile bump which feels good for gaming. I have optical browns on my keyboard and love them.

What kind of switches did the keyboards you owned have? I would recommend a ducky keyboard probably one of the best mechanical keyboards you can get that is not in the custom keyboard realm.
Recently got the Ducky One 2 TKL with Silver switches.
That thing is amazing!
After much research and debate, I settled on the Corsair K95 Platinum. So far I like the feel of the speed keys and it's a good looking board. It's louder by a margin compared to my Logitech, but still not bad. Thank you very much for your thoughtful support.
I’m using a K95 with the speed/silver switches. I love it, but will warn you it takes a minute to get used to the speed keys. They are super sensitive.
I've got 99 Parabolas, but a Limpet ain't one
Let's get back to Battlefield
Try the G613 wireless from Logitech. It's mechanical and has performed very well for me. I got it late last year and, I think, it rocks.
