    Default GPU Fan Grind Noise!

So I have noticed recently that when I boot my pc there is a grind noise coming from my GPU. It only happens when I reboot or wake my PC, almost as its grinding only when to get it going. I started to play around with my GPU fan speeds to see if i could replicate it starting up but ended up getting no grind noise. I first set my Fan speeds to 0 completely disabling them and then ramping them up to different speeds even maxing them out, yet still no grind noise. I searched for maybe a wire on the outside touching the fans but no wires were touching. Now I am out of idea's. I still believe its the GPU fans as that's the central point of the noise but I am also at the same time wandering if it could be something else internally. PLEASE HELP!

My GPU is the RTX 3080 Gaming OC edition if that is of any help. Triple Fan

Who is the card manufacturer? ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI?

I'm tempted to think this is an issue with a fan blade being out of balance and it taking the hard stop - start to make it noticeable.

It not a huge issue until the bearing in the motor goes tits up.

I'd be calling customer support (I know, I know but, sometimes if its warranty you just gotta bite the bullet and bend over), let them know whats up and see if they won't send you a new fan cluster.

Gigabyte gpu fans like to vibrate like a card in bike spoke at a certain rpm. I owned like 6 of their cards from pascal series and they all did it at a certain rpm. If I went up 1% at a time in msi afterburner I could find the exact spot. None of them were the same rpm either lol. My 2080 super from gigabyte doesn't do it tho.

Yes it is a Gigabyte card! Is there something O could possibly do, I do not mind taking it out and somewhat take it apart to fix.

It is possible to replace a fan on your card. I did it once. But it's difficult and basically voids the warranty. And often to get at it you have to unseat the thermal connection between the actual GPU chip / chips and the heat sink, and then reseat it with new thermal paste. You can do research about what size fan it mounts.

Might not be the fan. Make it do it and lightly touch the shroud around the fans. I think mine was just perfect vibration that made the shroud rattle where it touched to heatsink. If it only does it for a second on startup then just leave it. Could RMA it but like I said every single one I owned did it at a different RPM so it's a lottery if your new one will do it or not lol.

I had this same issue with case fans. I had 3 on one adapter. I tried every speed and they would rattle. Eventually I gave up and disconnected them.... Now they are just for show. Irony is that they were silent fans...
