    Default Oculus Quest 2

Does anyone here own one? Worth it? I thought. About getting one. Probably wouldn't use it all the time so the lower price point was appealing to me

The wife and I have one we use rather often. We mostly utilize for exercise and beat saber. Still looking for a good shooter or RPG type game I can get into for longer gameplay.

I ended up ordering one! I've been kicking around the idea for a long time and decided to pull the trigger. Amazon should be delivering it tomorrow!

I bought a Quest 2 about a month ago and coming from the original Rift it is quite the upgrade, especially for $300. I play Dirt Rally 2.0 almost exclusively with my headsets so that is where 99% of my experience is but I love the Quest 2. The resolution bump is fantastic, for me the screen door effect is completely gone and I went from not even being able to read in game menus to being able to see them perfectly clear. The Rift had pretty bad god rays but on the Quest 2 they only show up when something very bright is shown on a dark background, like the screen that is shown every time you turn the headset on. Lol. But honestly other than that I rarely notice them. Dirt requires linking to your PC with a cable and in my experience the linked system works great. After plugging in the cable you simply selecting settings and link. Playing wirelessly is great and the battery life is pretty decent. It seems to last for about three hours and it does charge pretty quickly. I've played Beat Saber and the Walking Dead in wirelessly and the tracking is excellent. I had so many tracking issues with my Rift but none with the Quest 2.

Overall I've had a great experience with it. I was trying to decide between the Reverb G2 and the Quest 2. I was mostly interested in the G2 because of the slightly higher resolution but after seeing that the headset doesn't always play nicely with Dirt I went with the Quest 2 and I'm very happy with my decision. I've only used the 72Hz setting so far and haven't noticed a difference from the Rift at 90Hz but the Quest 2 now has 72Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz options so that is very nice. It's a great device and I highly recommend Beat Saber if it looks like something you would be into it's a ton of fun.

The quest 2 is great so far! I've been having a blast with Blades and Sorcery and Arizona Sunshine.

Have you tried utilizing the Air Link so you don't have to stay tethered to the comp?

No I actually haven't tried that yet. I was reading that there's no noticeable latency when using Air Link but that the resolution is noticeably lower so I haven't bothered.

I have pulled the trigger and sold my soul to facebook (which is actually rather distressing for me) due to a paid for VR experience for a birthday which literally blew me away. Getting delivered in the next couple of hours. Any tips/tricks for a newcomer to VR? I have already set my oculus/facebook account to a dev account which seems to be pretty necessary eventually, and set literally all of my facebook privacy settings that weren't already to me only. Any other guidance on minimizing impact of this truely awful company (who I understand I am benefiting from their awfulness in the insanely cheap price of the quest 2)...?

That sounds like a good start. I own an Oculus Q2. Pro tip, with a oculus link cable you can use steam VR and buy all your games from your PC and not give FB any of your money. Draw back is that you will be tied to your computer.

I was interested in the Oculus Quest since RE4 VR came out. Im not a fan of the price though, I'm gonna hold out until it goes on sale. I do like the fact you can play wireless, it can give me alot of space in my room.

I have a Quest 1 and use the airlink feature. I've had no problems so far playing any Steam games with it.

Pavlov and Zero Caliber are great shooters. Pavlov is like counter-strike in VR, where Zero Caliber is a PvE - mission based game with lots of guns and attachments to unlock over time. It also features co-op with a PvP mode coming eventually.

I am not sure this will go on too high a sale, it is almost certainly being sold at a loss.

If anyone has two of these and hasn't tried it yet, the Walkabout Minigolf game is good fun to party up with and play! If anyone knows any other good family multiplayer games pls share.

I got the Quest 2 in September.

It has quite a few fun games, and new games are on the horizon. For example, GTA San Andreas is coming to Quest 2. Nomad just dropped.

I play mine about 8 hours a week. Many people who buy one literally don't use it after about a month. If you have the money, its worth it!
