Looks sweet....but those prices a little rough. I would like to think the 64GB emmc is good enough.

EDIT: WHOA!! If I waited 1 more minute to post, my post would have been exactly at the same time as yours but just night :)

I think it's a cool piece of hardware and I hope it is successful. Personally if I'm going to play my PC games I'd rather just play them on my PC/monitor vs a handheld especially since I already have a Switch. From what I've read you can uninstall the Steam OS and download Windows directly on to the handheld as well as other game stores so I think that is awesome.

Of course as of tonight people are already buying reservation slots and selling them on eBay for up to $1,000 and people are buying them too!

I saw this device yesterday and it looks pretty cool. Me personally I would never get it because I dont travel enough in which I would need to have something like this for gaming entertainment. But for kids and people who are constantly traveling that dont want to carry around a gaming laptop would love this handheld device. The prices are a bit steep in my opinion but your paying for it being portable and its using your own steam catalog.

Ok so I forgot about the SD card slot that you can use for storage as well. Idk if it has to be a certain SD card or whats the specifics on the SD card type. But If its just a simple SD card you can just get the cheapest version of the Steam Deck and buy a 512 gb SD card for like $60 -$70 bucks lol.

Gotta wonder how fast it'll be outdated though, I feel it would only be a year before a newer far superior model comes out.

Yes thats one of many cons that come with buying handheld gaming devices. Which is why I advise going with the cheapest option and then just buying a big SD card.

Curious to see the first tear down of a SteamDeck. Wondering how hard it would be to add/replace a M.2

not just that, but valve has a well established history of not really supporting its hardware product. in fact looking at how they support your products I feel like their philosophy is.

We want XYZ to exist, But no one makes one, so we will make one. Show the gaming industry that people want this. And then 2-5 other business will start to fill that niche.
