PlanetSide 2 New Player Experience Event



Calling all members of AOD! The developers of PlanetSide 2 have overhauled the new player experience in our beloved game. So, to celebrate, it is our privilege to invite every member of AOD for a night of fun where everyone can give the game a shot! Whether you've tried it out before or have never even heard of it, we'd love to have you.

PlanetSide 2 is an MMOFPS known for its epic battles and grand scale combat. Whether you're on your feet as an infantry solider, mounting up in one of several ground vehicles, or taking to the skies in a plane, you'll have plenty of avenues to have fun any way you want. In this game, three factions struggle for victory and control. These factions are called the Terran Republic, the New Conglomerate, and the Vanu Sovereignty. For the duration of the event, you'll have the opportunity to pick a faction and be a part of a platoon, which is a group of up to 48 soldiers that will be helmed by our division's best commanders. It will be your job to fight for control of one of four continents on the planet of Auraxis. No matter what your skill level is, there is something for everyone in PlanetSide 2!

What you need: PlanetSide 2 (It's FREE!)

How to prepare: Make sure you've downloaded the game, and also installed the patch (16 GB each)
(Starting the game brings up the launcher, where it will patch from there).
You can also check out this FAQ if you run into any trouble.
There are also some in-game codes you can redeem for some useful free equipment.

How to sign up: Just post what faction you'd like to be on, and we'll do the rest! Don't worry about filling up the squad lead positions, we're going to fill those in with veteran PS2 members in the coming days.


Terran Republic



The Terran Republic uses high rate-of-fire weapons and large magazines to overwhelm their opponents with raw firepower. Whether it be chainguns, rotary cannons, or fast-firing missiles, the TR has it all. You can use them no matter whether you run, drive, or fly. The TR fields unique vehicles such as the Prowler, the fastest main battle tank with dual 120mm cannons, the Mosquito, the fighter with the highest cruising speed, and the Striker, an anti-air rocket launcher that specializes in clearing the skies. New Conglomerate



The New Conglomerate values damage above all else, and their weapons and equipment embody this. Not only do all of their guns pack a punch, but their equipment is designed to take damage too. Being the most prolific users of shotguns, the NC has even devised a way to put an under-barrel shotgun onto their shotguns. Their main battle tank, the Vanguard, has an activatable shield that protects it from damage, and their empire specific fighter, the Reaver, has the fastest afterburner of any faction. Vanu Sovereignty



The Vanu Sovereignty relies on the accuracy and stability of their plasma projectile weapons to uplift them to victory. With unorthodox vehicle designs and advanced technology, the VS utilize their tools to extreme effectiveness. Their battle tank, the Magrider, is equipped with hover technology that lets it move over all terrain with ease. Their fighter plane, the Scythe, lets VS pilots cut through the air with unrivaled agility. The most experienced VS troopers gain access to heat-based weapons, which cool down instead of reloading.
