    Default Ryzen 9 Peaky Performance

    So I have a Ryzen 5950 in a ASUS X570 motherboard.
The issue is very peaky temps in game meaning my fans are ramping up and down excessively.
PBO is off which helps slightly, any other suggestions (core boost off drops temps to a steady 35-45 degrees).

I have a Ryzen 9 3900x and it gets up to 80c for a second or 2 but stays steady around 77c when under heavy load. I went into BIOS and adjusted the fan curb and it helped I made it max out the fan rpm when over 83c to keep temps down but never has gotten there.

BIOS adjustment will also help with fan speed changes it will fix them for the those speeds at those temp ranges.

I also have a 5900x, I would also suggest changing your fan curve. According to AMD temp spikes are normal and safe up to 98 C, which seems nuts to me. I can say switching to water-cooling has leveled off my temps a bunch.

Thanks for the answers so far, not a cooling issue as I'm on a water cooling loop with a triple 140mm rad/fan combo (plenty of case fans too), the loop coolant temp doesn't go above 35 degrees. The waterblock has been refitted a couple of times with differing thermal pastes

What are your actual temps and do you have a custom fan curve or is it just being controlled by an aio or something?

Solved - Under-volted VCORE and all the issues went away, dropped by 0.2V and no issues running at full speed and full load but power consumption (and temps) dropped by 20% plus!

Undervolting ryzen will also makes clock speeds drop so it's never really a fix...

It’s still boosting multiple cores up to 4.4-4.5GHz, that’ll do for me. I don’t need any more power so seems no point in pushing it.
More than happy with fifteen degrees off core temps!
