Hello All,

My kid has an existing system with the following components:
- EVGA Z77 FTW motherboard
- i7-3770k CPU
- 32 GB RAM
- 800w Corsair power supply

They got a new video card - Nvidia RTX 2060. They also got a new 1 TB SSD. Fresh install of Win 10.

Everything worked great, until launching a game. Screen turns black and the whole thing freezes up. Event Viewer says power kernel 41. That makes me think power supply. He's got a Corsair 800w system. OK... maybe the new card uses a lot of power. I get him a Corsair 1000w power supply. That's got to do it, right?

After install, same thing. freezes to black screen when launching the game. Power kernel 41 error.
- reseat the gpu.
- reseat the power cords.
- one power cord directly to gpu with nothing else on it.
- checked RAM for any errors and none.
- estimated power needed with full system to be 700w.

What could it be at this point? Evidence points to not enough power, but a 1000w power supply really should do it. Any advice at this point? I want to take it to the local shop, but they aren't open again until Monday morning.
