thoughts on the RTX4090/4080 (16/12gb)

Wow, that sucks. I've had good luck with their GPUs.

They were the best, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, they got tired of essentially getting jerked around by Nvidia and were often times left in the dark, from my understanding. When Nvidia (who could obviously afford to) heavily slashed their prices of their 30xx series cards, EVGA was forced to cut theirs as well to match, which meant they had to take a loss on all of their leftover stock.

EVGA was/is (because they still have PSUs and Mobos) on the expensive side, but their products were extremely well engineered. Unlike like a few others... msi... COFF COFF... that have VRAM thermal pads that don't even touch the VRAM!

Don’t forget about their top notch support they provided/provide as well. And they had their step up program as well. EVGA, once again in my opinion, was well worth the extra money.

I have that exact PSU. It's only ATX 2.4. It's probably fine for the 4080s, but don't risk it on the 4090.

People are setting overclocking world records with Corsairs updated 2x8 pin to 16 pin cable. There's no risk with a quality PSU and the proper setup. You don't want to be using 2x daisy chain 8 pins to the 4x8 pin adapter Nvidia provides but properly running 4x 8 pin straight from the PSU or Corsair new cable is absolutely fine.
