These guidelines are intended to help AOD members portray their community positively and consistently while broadcasting game play using Twitch, Youtube, Mixer or any other method. In response to numerous requests for clarification, here are a few simply principles to follow without over-complicating the matter.
Each division should draw from this baseline and add anything additional that caters to that specific division’s broadcasting needs, constraints, and benefit opportunities.
- When playing under the banner of AOD, such as using any of the AOD brand assets like logos or web addresses, in a live broadcast, the COC should be upheld at all times. AOD members playing AOD games follow AOD principles. AOD members that are streaming "blue" without affiliation to our community or outside of our supported games are still advised to uphold the COC as AOD members often follow each other and representation, while not overt, is still likely.
- No solicitation for funds for any purpose should be made to AOD members in conjunction with a personal broadcast. A member is not to request donations, monetary subscriptions or any other form of payment from members of Clan AOD. In short, members may not utilize our community for their individual profit or benefit. Encouraging audience-building follows that do not involve money during a stream (not through AOD forums or messaging) is certainly acceptable.
- Full courtesy should be given to AOD members while streaming - be in the appropriate rooms and channels (based on division guidelines) so that it is obvious to other members that you are live. No member should find out after the fact, or be surprised, that their personal conversation is being broadcast. Similarly, give full courtesy to broadcasting members - do not be obnoxious or disruptive when entering streaming channels or channels where a member indicates they are “live.”
- If using AOD brand assets (logos, etc), do not alter them. While it is perfectly fine to display the logo in it’s unaltered form, our community strives to maintain consistency of its brand and AOD members are key to this endeavor. Ask a MSgt+ for access to brand assets and consult them before any alterations.
These guidelines should keep our members operating uniformly while broadcasting. Best of luck on your next broadcast.
