Maybe better but xfie is easier to use and uses less resources for your pc

For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed,
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still.

Steam is a cpu muncher because they sell games and obviously its gonna do that since your loading the games and steam plus the steam store which is huge plus your friends list and etc.

If you just had friends and no games then it would be no difference between xfire and steam accept your loading the steam store as well so like 10% more cpu usage than xfire.

Steam is basically XFire, but you can buy/download games on it and it lags your computer. I prefer XFire :P

I'm on a Dell XPS L502X and I run Steam and xfire at the same time. No problems yet. By the way, my Steam name is Really Old Man. Add me for DayZ, Team Fortress 2, and maybe Counter-Strike Source if I feel like getting my butt handed to me on a silver platter.
