I am actually interested in firefall myself. But I shall give it a week or two before I jump back in it. Because it's currently the usual errors/bugs for any open betas start I guess.

So far, I am enjoying it. The login issue has been fixed, but of course there are some other issues running wild etc. Although they're working on the fixes for known issues.

Sad to say.. after waiting for so long for it to come out.. that I tried it and found it not to my liking. Sad sad day for PCool.. but at least I still have Defiance :)

Now.. that being said.. if FF cleans up it's graphics and starts to look more realistic, then I'll probably come give it a whirl again... but I don't see that happening sadly.

I love the art style. I love the open ended gameplay. I don't like the network issues at the moment. I played for maybe a week prior to open beta and it wasn't bad at all. I know it's because of increased traffic.... But damn! Buy some more servers!

Yes, there are these three melding pockets, areas you have to build a key to get into, that each have group missions to complete, and there is an instance.

Been playing it since the first month of Closed Beta and it has progressed more since then. The game is meant to be cartoonish in nature. Used to be consistent enemies with guns that would spawn in rocks and buildings and shoot out but you couldn't shoot back in to kill em. Very fun. Gave it a break though cause I just ran around. Now they have Ares(or Aries) missions and another such things. The fact that you can push the meld back is nicer now too because it expands the map. That was one of my complaints was the map being to small and the transports to other avenues is really nice. Their initial trailer had me thinking there would be way more map than there really is.
