Default I ask You just this

Did You help today? Perhaps cure a disease?Maybe repair a broken bone? How about that whole world peace thing?No...Damn,Me either. Wait,I didn't do THAT but I DID

Hold a door for a couple people
Smiled at a pensioner and said "Good Day Ma'am'
Brought extra carts up to the store from the parking lot
Gave someone coffee as they worked
Chatted up a adorable 3yr old girl in line and had Her paint one fingernail of mine,to match hers. Yes,in Line,at the store.

Small acts, some kind, some nothing more than being human, but I ask You just this

Did You get a "thank you'?
Did You see Her face light up in a smile and for a moment, see Her 40 years younger and vibrant?
See someone use that cart, and put their cane in it?
See the look on their face when they drank it,and for a moment, rested?
See the smile on a childs face realizing adults are pretty awesome sometimes?

    I did.

So I ask You just this

Will You join Me? Just a few small things. Nothing earth shattering, but to someone whose day may have been shattered,it could be everything.

    Will You?

I got a coworker to laugh his a** off by suggesting that he was working on a septic tank after he told his GF on the phone that he got some overflow from a tank on his hand (he was filling up the DEF tank on the work truck)

Good reminder to strive to be a better person each day. Lift up instead of tear down.

Ok Rubble, either you are a poetic-genius or you enjoy a very liberal-use of halucegenic substances.

My motto: Do the right thing. It has served me well, being a good person with a random act of kindness or just being respectful is often the “right thing to do”, good on you for the post.

Chivalry may be dead, but thank goodness courtesy isn't. I love what hope this post gives and the reminder to show that common courtesy that seems to be so rare in this day and age.

Silk-Im here most mornings and some nights

DieOlleScholle-Nimvlar was correct,C is the right answer. Both. More the Psychedelics but I'm known for a decent turn of phrase now and again.

Chivalry may be on life support, but not dead. Doing the right thing is easy when it's in public,it's when no one is looking is when it counts though. I've done the right and the wrong thing in various situations. I'm a human after all and fallible as much as the next person. I TRY to do right and TRY to contribute in a positive manner to My community and the world at large. Getting older and facing Cancer kind of gives one's mind a "Shake" and requires introspection. I've prevented crimes and sometimes committed them in My younger years. I've bit the bullet and been "Wrong' though I was right and been right, though I was very wrong. The point is, a PMA is required for these things. PMA=Positive Mental Attitude. Some days I have it in bulk, other days I couldn't find a PMA with both hands,a flashlight,2 dogs a sherpa and GPS map w/Siri assist. Again,Human ya know. Mental illness makes it tough some days but it is always worth the fight to do so. *Fyi-I'm BiPolar and have been since 83. Currently unmedicated and doing well w/out them though when in *Crisis* I take meds to get through it*. See,Having a PMA more than not means Your outlook will change. Soon it's a way of life and a requirement for YOUR happiness...see,human again. WE want GOOD for ourselves, however, the dichotomy presented is that We must GIVE of OURSELVES to GET for ourselves what We want. Ya get what Ya give, see? SO,since I'm a selfish human, and I want GOOD for Me and mine, I gotta GIVE good for Me and mine. This doesn't mean You don't commit murder by beating 43 people to death with a steel dildo while singing Ave Maria in a intersection downtown at noon. It means that even SMALL acts have large consequences. There are opportunities all around us all, daily. There's a thread on YT called "faith in humanity' showcasing people doing good things. Saving a doggo from a well or flood, helping a elderly person cross a busy street, etc and so forth. One of the most powerful I saw was a Man who goes to His local chemotherapy clinic with His wife, and is a former patient Himself. Every Day He goes,He brings coffee's for everyone there. Patients n staff alike. A Man who trudged through hells gates w/a middle finger raised and a PMA won His battle, and has NOT forgotten those still in the fight! He could say "Honey,I cant go with You,take Your sister. That place scares Me now and I never want to see it again'. Instead,He bucks up and takes His wife to battle, and in the process, brings light, dignity, honor, and some measure of love to those who fight the battle still, both Non-Coms and officers alike,if You will.

Tell Her She has a pretty dress
Tell Them that they're worth it
Tell Him that He did it well
Tell Yourself it's worth Your time, even though ours is limited
But most of all, most important, foremost in the mind-

Be of service, for if We do not,Are We earning our air We breathe, the ground We trod, the food and water We consume. Yes,earn. This planet is infected with a virus called US,and like Any virus,we're killing it,slowly. Both from a population standpoint, and a care of use standpoint. Ergo,if a few of us try to be a GOOD virus, perhaps We can infect the virus' next to us and make THEM good. Turn 'em ya know? Next thing ya know, through mere acts of kindness and treating the world around us with honor and dignity,We've effected the world with our actions,in a good way. Will it save the planet?Hell I don't know. Will it solve world hunger? It could. Will it end the wars and strife?Nope. Those are here, and where one ends, another begins. What it WILL do is make YOU feel better, and others as well. We can only hope they take it further and "pass it on' as it were "Pay it forward' whatever the hell the kids call it these days. *Btw,teach YOUR kids to pull their pants up. I don't wanna see their scooby-doo boxers w/a skidmark like a high-speed wreck above their damned pants*. Do nice. Good?Hopefully, but NICE.

    As always Rub, very poignant.

I'm hearing your second-to-last statement though; pet hate of mine...
Mind you, watching a 2yo attempt to pull his PJ pants up, over a nappy, with 2 hands on the front only is entertainment in itself.

ANZAC Day (one of our versions of Memorial Day) just gone the little fella got involved; even if only to get close to the trucks...
