If you're having problems in school then you have to focus your efforts on school and school alone. Until you get a good pace going then you should venture out and play video games and other activities. This is the honest truth. Get 8-9 hours of sleep each night, and drink a lot of water and eat healthy. Until you start succeeding in school is when you can start your extra activities. Good luck.

If you are struggling in a subject you should work on your resource finding abilities and use Youtube, and other methods to learn some information on your own time while you are learning your in-class material. Use the student services and tutors if you have to. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going to tutors because it's really no different than asking your teacher.

    Like Markyle said.

8-9 hours of sleep, my 14 year old daughter goes to bed at 9.30 pm.
She gets up at 7 am. For her it's good. (School starts at 8.30 am here)

And indeed, do not game too much but focus on your homework.
You don't realize it now, but you will be sorry when you won't finish school.

    Been there done that.

Khan Academy is a good website. They are very helpful with math, science, etc. If you are going to take the SAT next year I'd suggest doing a Kaplan course. They teach you strategies and basics in accessible manner. Sleep is important. Don't do what I did. Regrettably in high school I was a bit of an introvert. If I have a suggestion that values above all that I just said it's this: get the fuck away from this. Leave Jedi Academy. It's a vacuum of drama, bullshit, and stupidity. I am not talking about the people. I am talking about what it does to the people. If anything I wished when I was your age or perhaps two years younger was to never touch this god forsaken game. It's addictive and it ruins your attitude with it's outlandish cynicism. The internet in general will do this to you. Pick up a sport. Weight lift. Do an acting club. These things will actually help you in life and you will make the best of friends through this. I ignored this advice and in doing so I became an outcast. With my real life friends and at times my own family. I would hate to see a kid make the same mistake I did. Sure games are fun but the people I had the most admiration for were those who looked upon me with disdain when I could not comprehend the norms of the day. I only realized this recently and upon going into college I've become a more mature person. I understood to have fun once in my life. However I regret not doing so sooner. If I had time to go back and change it I would. I feel as though I'm living in this alternate reality that formed as a result of my insecurities and consequently my prejudices for the norms. I thought I'd be a conformist. But to whom was I appealing to? My internet friends. I was shunning away people that at a time cared for me in real life but I grew distant and I doubted my own limits and never went beyond them. So where could I be today if I were in your shoes and decided to stop logging into these kind of forums? I would likely be in a better school, I would be close my former friends from before going away to school, and I would have likely been dating a friend of mine's hot sister. But it is what it is. I cannot change the present with the past, but I know to change the future. Listen kid, if you think this is one long tirade then heed to this one last notion:

Get the fuck away from this.

Log out and leave. It's the best advice I wish I had.
