Daddy I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. I get where you're coming from but this has been a hard and fast rule for over 15 years (if my math is right).

Here is why the rule is he way it is. When you join AOD you are not joining WT/AOD. This is one clan and not a community comprised of many clans. I am not saying you can't go out and play with friends because you can as an AOD member. As you stated this is not a concern because you play 1 game at a time. If or when a new game comes out and you'd rather play with those friends than you are more than welcome to leave AOD and wear their tags. No harm no foul. You can always rejoin AOD at a later date. Hell if you want the best of both worlds talk to those 5 friends and let them know you had a good experience here. See if they'd like to come along for the ride.

Mostly when new games and divisions start people from all divisions move to the next game. Most likely you'll follow friends you make here to new divisions.

In your recruitment this should have been mentioned with you agreeing for membership. If not your recruiter will need a refresher.

Being a member of 2 long standing multi-gaming clans (yes I said it) I can see where you are coming from Daddy. But, there are rules you agreed to when you joined AOD. Being all in was one of them. It's a decision I also had to make when I joined AOD. You see I've been a member of shiningforce.net for over 10 years now. They are as much family to me as some of my cousins are. I love them all very dearly, and enjoy playing games with them. However, they don't play the games I'm currently into. AOD does, so when I initially joined AOD, I did so knowing that should the two clans ever both support a game... I'd have a decision to make.

While I do not have as long a tenure here at AOD as many other have, I do share something with them that has grown in me over the last few months. I fucking love gaming with these guys. I know now, that should I have to ever decide which clan's tags to wear... it will be AOD. Shiningforce will always be my family, but AOD gets me as a gamer. I'm not saying S*F didn't, but they are more a hardcore skill based type where I just want to play.

I truly hope that you, and everyone else who joins our clan will someday share my views on this. Should the day come that you do have to chose, just take the time and ask yourself. Am I really going to enjoy playing with the other guys long term? Will they be there for me with other options if I get bored of this game? AOD will...

    yea no worries here.

I suppose it was maybe the tone and the context of the post, it sounds a bit threatening and over the top, but it is your clan.

yea i read all the rules when I joined, and maybe it has been that way for 15 years, but times do change as things evolve.

If you don't change with the times you die out.

Unfortunately Since I have been in AOD I have seen more players go in our division than stay, it just maybe time to reconsider some of these rules that are 10-15 years old and revise them to more current ways of thinking in modern gaming communities.

For example if I played WOT in one clan then joined AOD in WT and you guys said I had to play in AOD in WOT, you guys would be totally missing out on the awesomeness that is DaddyWabbit in WT

Recruiting is GOOD and constant. A thumbs up to everyones efforts on that.

But you also need to consider PLAYER RETENTION, right?

You can recruit 100 players a week but if none are around in two weeks...wasted effort and it was more work for everyone involved, adding and deleting people most of the time.

A more lenient policy in this department could help with player retention in individual divisions is mainly what I was saying .

Good luck.Just something to think about in the future

That is EXACTLY the point i was trying to make....

You can proabally achieve better long term results by allowing choice in this particular area.

As Calederic, mentioned after some time playing with AOD he would clearly play with AOD in any game he chooses to play in the future.

The current rule doesn't really allow AOD the chance to recruit players that play other games and convert them to this way of thinking, because the rule is more absolute....to join/play in AOD you must play AOD in ALL divisions of games you currently play.

If I were to try another game of course I would play AOD as well, but having the choice would still be nice.

If you allow players to get their feet wet in AOD in one division first...they surely will ultimately make this decision as well about other divisions on their own, right? Because they will love us too.

Conversely, If we have a current member who tries to play another game AOD is in, and for whatever reason decides the division is not right for them, they would have to leave the clan or play unanimously in that game. As mentioned this is pretty much impossible to prevent or detect, so why even waste time and efforts trying to control people choices?

    Just food for thought.

Well thanks for the imput. Things will stay the same so arguing the point here is moot. So back to the topic at hand. No multi-clanning please.

Well I'm sticking my neck into this one. When I joined AOD I was ready to switch because of the broad amount of games that we displayed. Now yes I would have left the clans or guilds I was in, but you can still maintain contact with your friends in other clans/guilds no matter what the tag and no matter what the guild/clan. So therefore you wouldn't lose touch nore have to make or break relationships you have made. AOD is a tag I proudly wear and will remain wearing but I can still (like stated previously) have fun with all my other friends that are not in AOD. So in response to you DaddyWabbit, you can stay in said division with AOD and play with others that you may be more in tune with while maintaining the Honor that is. Figured this would be a middle ground.

(Sorry Godshand, Just wanted to point out a middle ground part)

Well said Fire, you are exactly right. No one is saying don't play with friends and family. Just remember as far as tags go you are a member of AOD. I believe I stated hanging with friends in the original post was alright.

Picture Related: The entire clan right now.

BUT To make this post constructive, I agree with Both parties however, when you start a clan and have been around as long as AOD has; You start with Core Values, just like in the coast guard we have a CoC.
These rules do not change based on time spent, they are absolute and they bring in the right kind of members. Absolute loyalty, is just that.

    Godshands,

Thanks for the post and reminder on this. I haven't been playing a great deal lately, but when I am on I want to be part of the family on Vent and have interactive gameplay. What I love about AOD is that we are a family that moves from one game to another. If we serve two masters there are going to be times when there is a conflict of interest. It is better to show where your loyalties lie and either choose to be part of AOD where AOD has presence or leave. I think this is a great rule that was setup for good reason and we as a clan shouldn't budge on it.
