Hey was wondering if anyone else plays 40k. Wanna see how many people in this community play the tabletop. I personally play Space Marines and I only recently have gotten back into it after a couple years of hibernation.

I gave up when I moved back to the states and everything was stupidly expensive and I couldn't find anyone around me who could fight large battles. I used to have an absolutely massive BFG/Space Wolves army.
Oh nice :P yeah, it is expensive I love it though I only got into it again like 5 weeks ago. I played back when Assault on Black Reach box came out, and because of that I got a Space Marine and Ork army going. Focusing on Marines though.
I play and so does Samiam1 (On LOA) We have so much that if we were to lay it all out it would fill up a 20 by 10 room with excess. the amount of points is crazy. I still love the game and play it when I can.
I have a Cadian Pattern Imperial Guard Army. I just haven't played in years now.
I've thought about it a few times, i've pretty much decided i'd probably only buy the "Night Bringer" and paint him epicly and put him on my desk lol.
Blood angels, Lamenters, Dark eldar, and IG
"In midnight clad"
lets see... I have a huge space marine army, a infantry army of IG, hundreds of tyranids, tons of grey knights, a small army of Tau and a force of Eldar... I might play to much^^
So if you had a new player who wanted to start playing what would you recommend to do ?
Make sure people in your area play it and there's a place close by to go, nothing worse than getting into something and realizing you have to drive an hour or more just to participate.
Trawl ebay for cheap armies, you can always repaint if you want and it's generally much cheaper than going to a Games and buying a set. Starter box armies were like $200 last time I looked(I was paying $50 for them in the UK) and they're on ebay for like maybe $75 or so.
Yea things did look pricey on the website, over here in the UAE I doubt I'd find much interest. When I head back to DC I can't imagine I won't find at least one hobbie shop near me.

Ebay is stil your better bet. With physical hobbie\game store you are going to be playing full retail + mark up.
where as on ebay you have people just trying to get some money to put in to their new hobby that is replacing 40K or parents\spouses\executor of will getting rid of extra shit.
ebay really is your best bet you can usually get whole armies + extra shit fully painted, compared to starter kit where you have far less units and have to paint yourself.
Is there a keyword to search for? I searched but didn't come up with anything that seemed impressive
Would you get your Generation 6 rule book from there too or pay the 75? Amazon had new and used and you were saving like 10 bucks on the used lol
Found what appears to be a active group in DC only 20 - 25 minute drive from where i'll be so thats exciting.
Rulebook, wont get any stuff till i play a few games with different armies they got to find which one i enjoy more :D
it is starting to hurt my head!!!

for those who know the game this is a massive change to the game essentially allowing you to play whatever the heck you want in any army!
Also here is a list of armies.

Some of those armies in there are old and no longer used but there is still a lot. And most of them are being updated.
And yes I do visit BoLS from time to time.
i think this place will be that way, its not a bunch of highschool types but who knows the adults could be even more un-friendly haha. (No Offense to any highschool types :D)
