DayZ is my personal choice, not sure if RUST has dealt with all the hackers and crap that have at one point ruined the game, if they have I might pick it up then

DayZ is more hardcore then Rust, and will in the end have more content then rust, and will get more expensive later on.

Rust is a little like Minecraft mixed with DayZ, it is not as hardcore as DayZ, it is Cheaper, but AOD is not in it.

If you ask me I would go with DayZ sooner then later, plus it is a ton of fun as is.

I'd definitely go for DayZ first. While both games are in alpha, DayZ is being developed more rapidly and has more content readily available for play. Rust, while still a good game, lacks the manpower to readily release updates on a regular and consistent schedule.

DayZ. You'll thank me later. Like Sam said Rust is like Minecraft just more realistic vs dayz is more it's own thing, also I don't believe rust has zombies

There are several players who do play Rust. We have had 8+ people play rust. I would say you could get rust as they have weekly updates and are getting ready to release a big update. I have not played Dayz so I don't have anything to say for that game.

    Rust is for nerds.

DayZ lets you beat defenseless people on beaches to death with pipe wrenches. What's more fun that that?!

From my experiences playing with rust just isn't all that fun, first you gotta break out the sandpaper or cutting tool to take all the bad metal off... Oh you meant the game. Never played rust but I have Dayz, what Sep says it true but there are a few of us who play and would rather help people then hurt. Unfortunately that means you get shot in the face 90% of the time as well cause people are d-bags. But its fun if your into it and can get a group together.

Also, I heard that you have to buy Arma II: Combined Operations to play Dayz. There is Dayz standalone but I am not sure if you need Arma II to play it. Btw, Arma II: Combined Operations is 25 bucks on steam.

I don't believe you need Arma II, just DayZ. And what Sep said is definitely making me consider getting the game.

DayZ Standalone is a brand new game of the mod off Arma 2. You do not need any arma. All you need to do is buy DayZ Standalone and you have the game. I recommend buying it, it's a lot of fun!
