Default Shoot me now(weird PC lag)

First I will start with my system specs (all drivers up to date)
    new= 2 days old.
    Intel core i5 4690k (new)
Msi z97 gaming 7 mobo (new)
    Gskill 16gb 1600mhz kit (new)
    Radeon HD 7970 3gb (1year)
Kingston 128gb SSD (new) 2nd one first one died.
    Corsair tx650 psu
    4 HDD for storage
    Hyper 212evo cpu cooler.

My problem is that whenever I download from a game client is lags out my entire PC to its knees. I have tried this with Archeage, Steam and Blizzard. It also seems to happen when downloading from my browser(Chrome). I have tested it out with torrents in which case I was downloading at 2gbps and the pc seemed fine, also I don't seem to be lagging in games. I have tried to search for this problem but seem to be a lost sole wandering the desert. In advance thanx for the help guys atleast I can still game :D

It is opening to many connections for your PC or Router to handle.

Try to find the client per game/situation and limit the downloads to a healthy number such as 50, ramp up depending on what you believe your unit can handle.

Or, with alot of new games nowadays you can disable the torrent based downloading in the settings of the loader. I often disable them and wait longer for the download so I do not have to deal with the lagging of it.

You can also look into optimizing your LAN in a couple ways, but that is highly advanced and I'm not sure if you want to tackle that =)

Have you installed the latest flash, java, etc? Since you have a new rig they may not be updated or installed and that might be your internet video issue.

I also get the major lag when downloading games but not with torrent clients or with browsers. I think mine is a HD issue of the d/l speed surpassing the writing speed of the drive (or the torrent is in to many "pieces" and the HD has a hard time sorting it out)

    Doubtful on GPU.

Could certainly be software related as mentioned. An update of all supporting software may help.

Are you running any antivirus software that may be hogging resources?

Steam is a heavy program and will compare its sources files which are quite large, so some lag during steam is expected, though 16gig of 1600 should be able to move along nicely.

Hard to tell from the information available.

Take a snap shot of your resource monitor when it occurs next, and we can see if its bogging something specifically, or hardware write delays which is highly probable.

I seem to have fixed the problem. My new MSI mobo has a killer network suite which seems to be giving all types of problems. I switched the driver from e2200 to qualcomm atheros driver only then uninstalled the killer suite reboot and running fine so far.

Good call, and nice catch! Reminded me I had similar issue with a Z87 board.
