    Interesting Thoughts on Hardline

What are your thoughts on Hardline? It looks interesting from the limited time I was able to play it however it seems to be a "slight ripoff" of GTA, and quite a step away from the traditional BF series.

    Default Thoughts on Hardline

I'm not likely to spend $60 on it but we will see. it didn't rock my world in beta so I'm gonna wait to hear some reviews

I recall really enjoying the beta for Hardline. It felt familiar, but was different enough from BF4 so it didn't feel like a complete ripoff.

I'm not sure if it's worth a $60 price tag though. I'd likely get it anyways because it was a decently fun game, and it's likely that AOD will go down that road as BF4 drops off. If they add more unique features to it than what we had in the beta (It was a beta, afterall. One map, 2 modes) then it will definitely be worth it. However judging by what I saw in the limited beta access we had a few months back, I don't think it'll be worth the full price.

They did push the release date back though, so maybe they're going to add more features?

I plan on it. It has a "new" feel to the environment if I can play it for 100 hours I'll feel like I got my money's worth. Hopefully there's a campaign.

As most are saying. It didn't really "wow" me. The beta was fun, however I'd rather more military then the whole cops and robbers.

I heard there will be another beta maybe 2 before release, also the same developer for dead space is also making the single player and dice and them are doing the mp together. I felt during the beta the weapons where way more balanced and I enjoyed the gun play, whether its cop vs robbers or w/e it was fun.

I agree. It felt literally slapped together when you compare it to a game like BF4 which has had years and variations of polish to reach the game that it is today. I feel like they wanted to deviate just for the sake of deviation, and the fact that people enjoy playing it (I tried the beta and gave it the benefit of the doubt...for about a week) says that the user base either had previous experience with games like GTA, or weren't hardcore BF fans that have been with the series since the beginning (because I personally feel like knowledge of the game before BF4 is necessary to enjoy BF to its fullest).

That said, it's a novelty. Fun in small doses, not something I would throw down $60 for.

You really shouldn't think of it as a Battlefield game. It's Battlefield in name only.

Yes, it has a lot of similarities to Battlefield 4, but it's its own game. Visceral Gaming or whatever is making it, with DICE helping out with Multiplayer.

Exactly. It only has the Battlefield name and same engine but it's not a successor to BF4. It's literately EA's attempt at GTA and the like, and they are branding it with the Battlefield name for recognition.

I never said it was a battlefield, or that it was a successor. I only made the comparison in terms of quality. "It felt literally slapped together when you compare it to a game like BF4 which has had years and variations of polish to reach the game that it is today"

I dared to even make that comparison because they decided to implement hardline into battlelog, which makes its target audience BF3, BF4 players. It's just not at the same level, or even in the same ballpark. It was not a wise choice to market this game to BF players. But there seems to be a niche, and this is just personal stance. They obviously don't need my approval, or my money.
