So on Halloween, I was playing with a few of you and just disappeared. Thanks to having no insurance -- I don't think that having a 6000USD deductible is having insurance -- I didn't go for many months to get a series of ear infections checked out, but Halloween there was an incredibly sudden and incredibly painful round of it that sent me to hospital. Since then, I've been trying to recover from an infection that recruited the surrounding lymph nodes (which made it impossible to hear on that side or even turn my head). For the most part, the infection is clearing up nicely save the short, random burst of pain. An odd side effect of the infection has been that it introduced a slight delay hearing my own speech in that ear which, if you've never tried listening to your own microphone in your ear, confuses you to the point that you stop talking.

All that being said, I'm afraid this might take longer than I had hoped to truly clear up. I am going to try to attend the squad event tonight, but it should be unsurprising if I'm not there or that if I do show up that I have to quit. I'll probably need at least another week to allow the cocktail of antibiotics to properly do their thing.
