    Default Video Card

So I wanted to get opinions on what the top of the line video card is this year? I was thinking of getting the top video card this year, next year when the new ones come out so it will be reduced in price.

What kind of money are you looking to spend? If the price tag doesn't matter, consider one of these. (Canadian dollars listed as it's a Canadian website):

    EVGA GTX 980 ACX Cooler, 4gb - $679.99CAD
    http://www.ncix.com/detail/evga-gefo...-52-102571.htm

Or, if you want water cooling

EVGA GTX 980 Hydro Copper (water cooling) 4gb - $929.99CAD
    http://www.ncix.com/detail/evga-gefo...-c7-103890.htm

Now, if you don't want to take out a second mortgage on your house, you could go with what Synergy suggested and get a 7xx series card. You'll want a 780Ti solo, or two 770 cards in SLI.
x70 cards aren't bad at all, I have a single 670 in my rig right now and it still plays everything I own on ultra settings. If you want to future proof your rig for the next few years, grab two.

EVGA GTX 770 - Two options (go with the ACX) - Both listed at $349.99
    http://www.evga.com/Products/Product...hipset=GTX+770

If that's not enough, grab two GTX 970's at $419.99 each

    Hope this helps
    Cheers

I would not recommend getting GTX 770, It's not a valid purchase since GTX 970 is on the market. 970 is more powerful with only slight increase in the price, it's comparable to 770 SLI, with much lower power consumption. Go for 770 only if you got some aftermarket bargains in mind :) (it's still very good card though)

The 300 series for AMD is scheduled for February if you can wait. That would also lower the prices on current gen cards.

Yea I was looking to do this years best next year,so I can wait. Money is not a hindrance just going to put it on my card, because I want to see if it's worth it or if what I've been doing for the last decade was.

In that case, I'd wait for the 990 or 980Ti as they'll provide the most punch out of any card in the NVIDIA series except for the ridiculously priced Titan cards.
When it comes to high performance, if you've got an Intel CPU I'd always go with an NVIDIA GPU as they work best with Intel CPU's and are sooooo much more power efficient.
Although they don't have as high hashing rates, they do perform a lot better with engines and drivers today.

That is correct. When it comes to Gaming, Titans are as cost-ineffective as you can get. 970 Single/SLI is the best choice at the moment, but this will probably change soon with some new high-end cards out (AMD R3XX series maybe ?).
