Wtf Is anyone else having video problems?

The last couple of weeks, when I play BF4, sometimes, not always the video isn't right. It's not smooth. I checked my video card and updates NVidia GeForce 780 GTX. I reboot and it fixes it sometimes.

I've had on and off periods of bad graphical errors, low fps or crashing.

My issue has been with big fps drops... down to single digit fps from my normal 80 to 120. After 20 seconds of low frame rate it jumps back to regular again for 30 seconds or so before dropping back down again. It seems to start after a couple of rounds and I have to exit BF and restart it. I don't need to reboot my pc and my memory monitor shows under 70% utilized. No issues with any other games.

Since some of the recent updates I haven't really been able to play BF4 at all. I can't get anything above a stable 45 FPS on the lowest settings. On previous versions of the game I could run everything on medium and have a solid 60 FPS. It's pretty much unplayable for me, no matter what I've tried. And yes, I have up to date drivers and all that jazz.

Repair the game seemed to fix the video problems I was having, plus Origin and video card updates. So I think I'm all set now.

The random exaggerated drops in performance are usually attributed to harsh disk usage spikes. I've seen it a lot with Windows 8 especially. If you don't have the game on an SSD use the Windows performance monitor and see if the spikes occur when the disk is being thrashed.
